This project involved transforming a once barren, lifeless yard of dead grass into a thriving food forest and native oasis. The homeowners envisioned a space that extended their living area outdoors, blending beauty and functionality with a low-maintenance, sustainable design. To achieve this, we replaced the lawn with ground cover and introduced textured, fragrant native plants, creating an inviting environment that supports local wildlife. The design incorporates elements of an old world garden, including a wall fountain and layered flower beds, while maintaining a focus on native plantings and sustainability. We added intimate patio and deck spaces for dining and entertaining, with shaded, private seating areas tucked away for relaxation. This design not only enhances the outdoor experience but also allows the homeowners to enjoy the benefits of a sustainable, low-maintenance food forest.
